Wahanga Tuarua 2019 PānuiE ngā mātua, e ngā kura pounamu, e te whānau o Te Tikanga Rua Reo, nau mai hoki mai ki Hato Opani. Nau mai haere mai, to our whānau of Te Tikanga Rua Reo for term 2. We trust that you have all had a lovely Easter and holiday break. With the weather cooling, there are many events and activities coming up as we plan meaningful and authentic learning experiences for our tamariki. Our kāhui kaiako include Whaea Becky, Whaea Nikkita, Whaea Hannah, Hākui Carmen, Whaea Rachael, Whaene Maria, Hākui Stephanie and Matua Mikaere. Our whānau hui will be on Wednesday 8th May at 5:30pm. This is a chance to reconnect with whānau members since the beginning of the year. The hui will include information about term 2, parent support request for Matariki celebrations and a special highlight, Whaea Hannah will share about her KPROT experience. As per our term 1 pānui, Nikkita shared her news about having her baby in mid June. The beginning of term 2 will see the start of the transition with Whaea Hannah assuming the role of kaiako of Kōtuku, with Whaea Nikkita’s support until her maternity leave starts. Whaea Nikkita will still have a very active teaching role across the kāhui and we are very lucky to have the support of senior leadership to allow this cross over to occur. If your tamaiti is in Kōtuku please feel free to speak to Whaea Nikkita or Whaea Hannah about your childs needs. Cultural Narrative Our manu roopu spent time learning about their manu, its characteristics, a waiata created by our very own Steph and we completed a range of learning experiences reflective of this learning. There will be a launch of the birds over the coming weeks. A reminder of the roopu: Riroriro Is our tau 1/2 roopu of akonga with Whaea Becky Kōtuku is our tau 3/4 roopu of akonga with Whaea Nikkita and Whaea Hannah Pouakai is our tau 5/6 roopu of akonga with Hākui Carmen Tipu is our building name for class next to Pīwakawaka Ngā Kete is our building name for the main entrance to TTRR space Rea is our building name for the class closest to the playground Whaea Hannah Introduction Papaki ana te tai o mihi ki a koutou ko te whānau o Te Tikanga Rua Reo I tipu ake au i raro i te mauka o Tuao Wharepapa Ki te taha o te awa Wairoa Ko Whakatū tōku tūrakawaewae Ko Hannah Lineham tōku ikoa I am so very excited to be returning to Te Tikanga Rua Reo this term. I am looking forward to reconnecting with the students and whānau I have had the pleasure of knowing for the past two years and to also connect and learn more about the tauira and whānau that are new to Hato Ōpani or to Te Tikanga Rua Reo. Nōku te whiwhi! Over the past term I have had such an amazing opportunity to be given the time to study te reo Māori, tikaka Māori and Kāi Tahu history through 'Kā Poupou Reo o Tahu'. I have come away from this course inspired and filled with new ideas for language teaching and learning and I cannot wait to bring that to our whānau in Te Tikanga Rua Reo. One of the goals that I have set is to be using the southern dialect of swapping the 'ng' to the 'k' in my kōrero. On the personal side of my life I am a 'home body' kind of person. Especially now that autumn and winter are setting in I like being at home with Matt, my husband, and watching movies and doing projects. Currently I have seven projects from home DIY to knitting on the go and all of them are close to finish, but I haven't quite got there yet. I look forward to seeing you all again back at kura and at whānau hui in week two. I love connecting and having a kōrero so please feel free to come before or after school to have a natter. Poipoia te kakano kia puawai Nurture the seed and it will blossom Learning Programmes Poutama Reo Our te reo Māori language programme will continue directly after minenga Monday to Thursday. Until Whaea Nikkita goes on leave we have further reduced group sizes based on needs to continue our strong push on te reo. Our main foci is ‘a’ and ‘o’ categories with a focus on akomanga kupu. You are welcome to be a part of minenga every morning to familiarise or re-familiarise yourself with this practise of tikanga. We enjoy having mātua/whānau come into the akomanga. On Fridays at minenga we celebrate learning with certificates and taonga are shared and handed out. It is important that when tamariki bring home the manu or tohora, the photos and stories are completed and returned on the Friday for sharing with the kāhui. If these are not returned in a timely manner then we are unable to acknowledge the successes of others. Inquiry Our school wide foci for 2019 is ‘Our Stories Matter’, there will be some learning about the 28th Battalion then moving into the stories of our waka journeys with connections to our pepeha and Matariki. Core curriculum areas of reading, writing and maths will be taught throughout with a focus on skills that can be used to share research and learning outcomes of the inquiry. The outcomes will be integrated across other curriculum areas so maybe science based, a technology creation, an artistic interpretation via dance, drama, music and/or visual art or maybe a poster or slideshow presentation. Tamariki will be grouped in a variety of ways from tau level, ability, tuakana/teina and at teacher discretion as required. Across the kāhui there will be a similarity in what akōnga are learning but it will be adapted to the learning level. Kapa haka Started in Term 1 for TTRR only and the wider school will be included this term. Cultural Festival is in Term 3 - September 9 - 13th. School ticketing will be later in the term, start rallying family and friends so you can secure your tickets. Communication Blog Our blog is via the school web page - www.stalbans.school.nz and our blog address is https://ttrr2019.weebly.com/. The Facebook page seems to be a popular method of communication and sharing of learning and events. A parent notice board is in Rea beside the whiteboard, please feel free to check this for information. Email will be your main sources of important information from Te Tikanga Rua Reo. Please ensure you have the correct email address at the office. If you need to communicate about your tamaiti, please address this with your child’s kaiako. This assists us to streamline the collection and holding of the important information with our first priority being the learning, well being and needs of our manu roopu. If it is medical, contact information - this must be updated on the student management system by the office. Home Fun Home Fun is Hato Ōpani version of homework, it consists of spelling, reading and mathematics basic facts. This will vary for each tau/tauira eg Tau 1/2 main focus may be daily reading and reading sight words, rather than spelling them. A spelling/word work programme will be provided for children at their level. Each week children may bring home ten words to learn and testing will happen on a Friday when Home Fun books must be returned. Spelling is also integrated into our Literacy learning. For reading, we encourage the children to self select a text of interest from home, local library or our school library. We ask that reading is for a minimum of 15 - 20 minutes. Dependent on your child’s reading level they may have a school text sent home to read with you, please ensure these are read and returned daily. Mathematics/Basic Facts are the main focus. This may be spending time on Matific, whānau learning of basic facts or doing activities like baking where you are talking about measuring and time or number order are fantastic. BYOD Thank you to whānau for your support in devices and sending these to school to support our learning programme. It really does make a difference to our teaching and learning programmes and promotes a new level of independence and self-management when tamaiti are using devices for their learning. If you wish to provide a device for school please complete a BYOD form (on papa pānui) for your tamaiti, then send the device to school so we can get it set up through Sam out digital support teacher in Kahu. Absence/Lateness/Early Pick Ups After analysis of absence data in term one, we have some extremely high absence rates in TTRR. Ongoing monitoring will continue and parents will be contacted as required. As kaiako we understand the impacts on learning that absence has, learners who are unsettled because they arrive late or when student anxiety increases because they know they have missed learning and catching up needs to occur. It can be frustrating when learning programmes are put in place to support learning but then absence inhibits both the programme and progress for the learner. We do understand that children become unwell and need to stay at home and we truly appreciate whānau keeping their unwell children at home instead of passing bugs around and causing the wider group to get sick. If your child is absent it is necessary and important that you let the office know before school by 9.00am. If your child is late to school, they need to go to the office to collect a green late pass. It is not ideal for tamariki to be late, as it generally upsets the child’s start to the day in which they are rushing to unpack their bags and don’t have that time to connect with kaiako and friends before the bell. Should you require to remove your child from class for an appointment, you MUST sign your child out in the office and children need to sign in again on their return. This is the same if you pick up early, all children who leave the school site between 9.00am and 3.00pm must be signed out. It has been brought to our attention that some whānau are not signing out when they pick up early. We appreciate at times these situations are unavoidable however, tamariki leaving school on a regular basis are missing learning opportunities that could include key learning or the independence to finish tasks or class activities. If your child arrives at school before 8.30am, they need to wait on the green and blue astroturf until the bell rings. There is no active supervision at this time as teachers can be in meetings or preparing for the day. A reminder also that no scooters or bikes are to be ridden on the school grounds before school and before 3.15pm after school. It is a safety measure to keep our all of our community safe. Thank you to everyone who supported our whānau hui on Thursday evening and an additional thanks to those parents who supervised swimming, helped to make beds, organised kai, served breakfast, washed dishes and kept the kaiako sane!! We truly appreciate your support. As discussed at our whānau hui, one form of communication will be a closed Facebook group for whānau of TTRR 2019. You can request to join the group here is the link - https://www.facebook.com/groups/1462577487206954/ We see the purpose of this page as a form of whakawhānaungatanga - contact between whānau to connect with each other, for reminders as required from kaiako and sharing of learning as appropriate. We ask that you respect the nature of the page for which it is intended as a communication point. If you have a concern please see the kaiako of your tamaiti for support. A reminder the TTRR blog is linked to the school website. Here is the link - https://ttrr2019.weebly.com/ Emails will continue to be sent as required. Wahanga Tuatahi Pānui 2019E ngā mātua, e ngā kura pounamu, e te whānau o Te Tikanga Rua Reo, nau mai hoki mai ki Hato Opani. He nui te mahi ki mua i te aroaro engari he nui hoki te hīkaka a mātou ko te kāhui kaiako mō ngā hua ka puta i tēnei tau. Welcome back to our whānau of Te Tikanga Rua Reo for 2019. I trust that you have all had a lovely break and no doubt you are happy to have your tamariki back at kura after a long holiday! There are many events and activities coming up and the kaiako are excited for the year ahead. Our kāhui kaiako include Whaea Becky, Whaea Nikkita, Hākui Carmen, Whaene Maria, Hākui Stephanie and Matua Mikaere. We are happy to welcome Chekayda-River Whakatihi, India Kalkat, Mataias Jones, Ngaia Chapman, Poi Turner, Frida Breading, Alani Marriott, Milani Peteru, Nikau Waaka, Reyne Stockdale, Teira Waaka and Trevor Eckhold as our newest members of Hato Ōpani. From mainstream we welcome Ella Kingi, Trey Rihari, Fern Da Silva, Te Ariki Walton, Naomi Crocombe, Davi Williams and Gisele Da Silva. A warm welcome to you all. Ngā mihi nui to those whānau who attended our Getting Connected meetings during the first week, We truly valued the time spent to listen to mātua share their tamariki strengths and aspirations for the year ahead. From these meetings you are aware that we are starting the year with a Pō Whakawhānaungatanga on Thursday 14th February at 5:30pm. This is a chance for new whānau members to meet all of us and for us to re-acquaint ourselves with one another. It will be a relaxed affair with a swim, shared kai (easy finger food please to save on doing dishes all night) and a noho kura/stayover for the tamariki. They will either need to shower before they come or have a swim. We do not have shower facilities at kura. Tamariki will need: · Mattress and bedding · Pyjamas, school clothes and clean underwear · Toiletries/face cloth Whānau please bring · Potluck plate to share on Thursday · Fruit or biscuits for shared morning tea on Friday A pānui and permission slip went home on Friday, please return as soon as possible. We will need some whānau to support our swimming session by being active watchers from the side of the pool. During the first couple of weeks we will take some time to settle back into the akomanga, the routines and again with the kaiako. Our main foci are Te Tiriti o Waitangi and pepeha - ko wai au? You are welcome to be a part of minenga every morning to familiarise or re-familiarise yourself with everything. We are continuing from last year, that all whānau can wear their shoes inside the classrooms, as we realised that whānau stayed outside because it was too much of a hōhā to take off the shoes. We enjoy having mātua/whānau come into the akomanga. As part of our pepeha learning as mentioned above, all children will continue, revise, refresh or record their pepeha for learning. As part of minenga all children take turns to be on the paepae where they share their pepeha. Maria and Carmen have requested information in previous emails and thank you to those whānau who have sent this in. As this is something we will be working on this week, we would appreciate your support with pepeha information for your tamaiti. As we have already seen, some children do know their pepeha well, others can remember portions and we want to support our newbies to be successful for both minenga and other occasions pepeha is required. Cultural Narrative Last year, Matua Mikaere, Hākui Stephanie and Whaene Maria spent a considerable amount of time with senior leadership developing our Hato Ōpani cultural narrative and part of this was the creation of kāhui and building names. So for tau 2019, we proudly introduce: Riroriro Is our tau 1/2 roopu of akonga with Whaea Becky Kōtuku is our tau 3/4 roopu of akonga with Whaea Nikkita Pouakai is our tau 5/6 roopu of akonga with Hākui Carmen Tipu is our building name for class next to Pīwakawaka Ngā kete is our building name for the main entrance to TTRR space Rea is our building name for the class closest to the playground Ngā Kaiako No Ingarangi ōku tipuna Ko Ngati Pākehā tōku iwi Ko Jamie Wilson tāku hoa tāne Ko Mae rāua ko Thomas āku tamariki Ko Becky ahau Welcome to the Te Kura Hato Ōpani whānau. My name is Becky Wilson and I am the kaiako for Riroriro this year. I have been teaching for 14 years, having taught in several schools within Christchurch over this time. I have been a regular part of the St Albans School Junior Team since 2015, most recently opening a new entrant class in term 2 last year. My husband Jamie and I have two children; Mae, aged 11 and Thomas, aged 10, Thomas attends St Albans School and Mae is at Heaton. We live in St Albans and love being part of our local community. I feel privileged to be a member of both the parent community and teaching and learning team at our wonderful kura. I have experienced the transition to school process with our children and understand what an exciting and nerve-racking time this can be. For term 1, the focus for your child will be to establish routines, develop self-management and independence skills and feel successful and positive about school. Please approach me if you have any questions. It is a special privilege to be a child’s first teacher and an incredibly rewarding job. Being able to see a child feeling settled and safe, enjoying school life and succeeding is truly gratifying. I look forward to getting to know you and your child and having a great year in Te Tikanga Rua Reo. Ngā mihi Whaea Becky He mihi matakuikui ki a koutou e te whānau ō Te Tikanga Rua Reo. Ko Ngongotaha te maunga Ko Utuhina te awa Ko Te Arawa te waka Ko Te Arawa te iwi Ko Ngāti Whakaue to hapu Ko Te Roro o te Rangi te marae Ko Nikkita Koia tōku ingoa It is an honour to be back within Te Tikanga Rua Reo this year and I have the privilege of being the kaiako within Kōtuku. My husband and I have two sons, Phoenix who is in Pouākai this year as a year five senior, and Jeremiah who is a very energetic and cheeky two year old. We are also pleased to announce that we are hapū with a kōtiro due in June, so our whānau are preparing ourselves for our next journey. I will be staying at kura until approximately mid Term 2, and our lovely Whaea Hannah will take over as I go on maternity leave until the end of the year. This term is all about connecting ourselves as a whānau and making sure all tamariki are able to take responsibility for their learning and well-being. I am excited about this year and have already seen in these first few weeks some amazing changes happening for both our kaiako and tamariki. It is a huge achievement having added on another class within Te Tikanga Rua Reo and with such an amazing team of people who are all on board with the kaupapa, we will continue to see many successes this year. Nāku noa, Whaea Nikkita Tēnā koutou e te whānau ō Te Tikanga Rua Reo Ko Hokonui te maunga Ko Mataura te awa Ko Tākitimu te waka Ko Kai Tahu, ko Ngāti Mamoe, ko Waitaha ngā iwi Ko Uenuku te marae Ko Carmen Aldridge tōku ingoa Welcome to our Hato Ōpani whānau. My name is Carmen Aldridge and I am one of the kaiako in TTRR this year. I am the Pouakai kaiako, tau 5/6. I feel privileged to have moved from the mainstream to TTRR and I am really excited about the year ahead. Over the last couple of weeks, it has been busy getting to know the children, working out what programmes can look like with the range of learning needs and ages of the tamariki. Added to the mix is settling our new tamariki, ensuring the use of te reo and meeting our whānau by getting connected. Personally, I am married to Kirk and we have three children - Jackson (20), he is almost finished his Diesel Technician apprenticeship in trucks and buses: Max (16) is in Year 12 at Burnside High School, he is an avid tennis player, sings and coaches tennis and Anika (14) is in Year 11 at Avonside Girls, she loves dance, sings and is a caring friend and member of our whānau. Both Kirk and Anika race at Woodford Glen, which keeps us busy in the weekends during the summer between the sport and performances. It is a pleasure to be a new member of the TTRR whānau, thank you for the welcome so far and I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you over the coming weeks starting on Thursday for our Po Whakawhānaungatanga. Nāku noa, Carmen Learning Programmes Poutama Reo The tamariki will be placed in ability groupings for Te Reo lessons which will occur after minenga until morning tea, Monday to Thursday. We see this as an opportunity to frontload language structures and reo to be used as appropriate throughout the day. We have a display in the kāhui in which you will be able to see the kupu and structures currently being taught so you can support your tama/kōtiro in their learning. Inquiry Our school wide foci for 2019 is ‘Our Stories Matter’, this is a particularly exciting kaupapa for us to delve into, in which we have started with our story of the treaty, what is our personal story through pepeha and our next learning connection will be understanding about our manu names - finding out about the characteristics of the bird, why we are named as such through the cultural narrative and what is the connection we can make with ourselves the learners and collectively as year groups. Communication Blog A blog has been set up via the school web page - www.stalbans.school.nz and our blog address is https://ttrr2019.weebly.com/ A parent notice board has been set up in Rea beside the whiteboard, please feel free to check this for information. The blog and your email will be your main sources of information from Te Tikanga Rua Reo. Please ensure you have the correct email address at the office. We collected preferences for communication at our Getting Connected meetings and the kaiako are just working through these to work out where/how we are best to communicate with everyone. Our email contact details are Whaea Becky [email protected] Whaea Nikkita [email protected] Hākui Carmen [email protected] Kapa haka Will begin in Term 1 with a few more details to be confirmed. Cultural Festival is in Term 3 - September 9 - 13th. For our new whānau Big Day Out This is a kāhui termly activity that is a reflection of our values or a fun activity connected to our learning. Each kāhui organises these activities and at times our tau level may join the mainstream Big Day Out activity, eg. on Tuesday Pouakai - Tau 5/6 are going to Spencer Park with the Kahu (the other 6 Year 5/6 classes). Sausage Sizzle Every Friday the PTA runs a sausage sizzle. Orders must be placed before school outside the hall, the children then go and collect at the beginning of lunchtime. Sausages can be ordered in vegetarian and halal also. $2 each. Home Fun Home Fun is Hato Ōpani version of homework, it consists of spelling, reading and mathematics basic facts. This will vary for each tau/tauira eg Tau 1/2 main focus may be daily reading and reading sight words, rather than spelling them. Our initial spelling programme will be Essential Lists and during the next couple of weeks we will test the children to work out a level appropriate for them. Each week children will bring home ten words to learn and testing will happen once a week. Spelling is also integrated into our Literacy learning. For reading, we encourage the children to self select a text of interest from home, local library and very soon our school library. We ask that reading is for a minimum of 15 - 20 minutes. Dependent on your child’s reading level they may have a school text sent home to read with you, please ensure these are read and returned daily. Mathematics/Basic Facts are the main focus. This may be spending time on Matific, once this has been set up for the year. For those who like variety or may not have access to a device at home we can use array tables, oral recall and learning of basic facts. We will teach the children how to complete these and we appreciate your support at home with these. School Leadership Opportunities A panui was availble to Tau 5/6 if they are interested in applying for leadership opportunities. These include School Council representatives (prepare a speech, share with Pouakai, Pouakai vote), House captains (apply explaining why you would make a great house captain), specialist leaders for Eco Warriors and Techie Kids (apply explaining why you would make a great leader in these areas). Application forms on on the notice board and have been handed out. I am really impressing on our seniors to give things a go, put your name in the hat and take the opportunities to try leadership the opportunities available. Students can apply for as many positions as they like. BYOD Thank you to whānau for your support in devices and sending these to school to support our learning programme. A special mention and huge thank you to Steve, Tania and Jesse for their kind donation of a Chromebook to TTRR for shared use. Hato Ōpani preferred device is an iPad HOWEVER we will be grateful for any device your child brings to school. There are so many benefits to bringing your own device - children have immediate access to the learning taking place, they are also able to share their learning with you at home easily - some even choose to continue their learning at home. Our Board of trustees provides some iPad’s and we have had a previous kind donation of Chromebooks to TTRR. So there are some devices available to be shared amongst the children who do not have access to a device from home. For out Year 6’s, Heaton and Cobham Intermediate require BYOD devices with Cobham having a preference for iPads and Heaton no longer stating a preference. If you have completed a BYOD form for your tamaiti, can you please send the device to school so we can get it set up through Sam out digital support teacher in Kahu. Reminders Stationery Hopefully all stationery is at school, if not we ask that this is sorted as soon as possible. Sun Safety Term 1 is a sunhat term, please ensure your child has a hat at school everyday. No hat means children need to sit/play under the shade sails in the U. School Swimming Timetable - as a hub we have swimming times on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The children generally swim in their manu roopu, however on these really hot days we have given everyone the opportunity to cool off in the pool. These will be on a rotation as swim slots are 30 minutes in duration, however with certain events on we endeavour to provide an equitable approach for everyone. Please send togs to school every day!! Aquagym Tau 3 - 6 This is from 18th - 22nd February, the children travel by bus to and from with an experienced swim coaching session at Aquagym. Tau 1 - 2 Aquagym sessions will occur at kura with instructors in our pool. Days and times to be confirmed for Riroriro. Scholastic Book Orders These were sent home last week, if you wish to order they need to be returned by Tuesday 19th February. Absence/Lateness/Early Pick Ups We understand that children become unwell and need to stay at home and we truly appreciate whānau keeping their unwell children at home instead of passing bugs around and causing the wider group to get sick. Ongoing monitoring occurs of students absence and lateness and parents will be contacted should the need arise. Should you require to remove your child from class for an appointment, you need to sign your child out in the office and children need to sign in again on their return. This is the same if you pick up early, all children who leave the school site between 9.00am and 3.00pm must be signed out. We appreciate at times these situations are unavoidable however, tamariki leaving school on a regular basis are missing learning opportunities that could include key learning or the independence to finish tasks or class activities including swimming or trips. If your child arrives at school before 8.30am, they need to wait on the green and blue astroturf until the bell rings. There is no active supervision at this time as teachers can be in meetings or preparing for the day. As always, we look forward to seeing you around school, at events and in the hub. Please contact us in person, via email or phone if you have any questions or concerns. Noho ora mai, Carmen Aldridge, Nikkita Koia, Becky Wilson Te Tikanga Rua Reo |

Originally from Gore (Murihiku) in the south, I have lived in Christchurch for 21 years. I am married to Kirk and we have three tamariki Jackson (20), Max (16) and Anika (14).
I have been teaching for ten years, starting at Christchurch East School with Year 1's and I have taught through to Year 8 and was the hub leader of the Year 5 - 8 Team Kauri (2015/2016). St Albans welcomed me to the team at the beginning of 2017, where I have been a hub leader and Year 5/6 homebase teacher in Waimakariri.
I trust you have all had a Merry Christmas and a positive start to 2019, I am really looking forward to this year, meeting the whānau of Te Tikanga Rua Reo and building positive learning relationships with you and your tamariki.
Some important information for the beginning of the year, and potentially some changes in dates that were made late last year.
Getting Connected Meetings
These are a fantastic opportunity for you and your tamaiti/tamariki to meet your new teacher and visit the learning environment. From experience this is valuable time spent, to meet kanohi ki te kanohi, knowing what whānau want for their tamariki and we have found that this time reduces a lot of anxiety for children thinking about the school year. Nikkita, Becky and I would love to see each and everyone of you over these two days!
Here are the instructions to make your booking:
First Day and Pōwhiri
School begins on Monday 4th February at 8.55am with a pōwhiri at 9:30am. If you are a current St Alban's student then you will join us on the Tangata Whenua side. If you are new to the kura, then you will be on the manuhiri side. You can join us from 8:30 in the morning to settle in with your bag etc and by 9:20 you will be congregating with other new members to the kura at the Oak Tree (you will be directed to this). We have Jackson and Nikita (parents of Chekayda-River Whakatihi, a new kotiro joining us who is also sister to Senny and Jakaia) doing whaikōrero and karanga
Student Information
For existing students, please ensure all contact details and information is up to date with the office. If there is anything you believe we need to know about your child, please ensure you share this at the Getting Connected Meetings with your kāhui kaiako.
- Thursday 31 January and Friday 1st February - Getting Connected Meetings
- Monday 4th February - students start with a pōwhiri at 9.30am.
- Wednesday 6th February - Waitangi Day
Getting Connected Meetings
These are a fantastic opportunity for you and your tamaiti/tamariki to meet your new teacher and visit the learning environment. From experience this is valuable time spent, to meet kanohi ki te kanohi, knowing what whānau want for their tamariki and we have found that this time reduces a lot of anxiety for children thinking about the school year. Nikkita, Becky and I would love to see each and everyone of you over these two days!
